Criminal justice and counterterrorism legal expert, Anton du Plessis, is the Executive Director at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) and has worked on human security, international criminal justice and rule of law issues in more than 20 African countries. Formerly, du Plessis has served with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, worked as a senior prosecutor in South Africa as well as an expert adviser to various UN entities and international organisations. In addition to his senior position at the ISS, Du Plessis is a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum, Member of the Global Agenda Council on Fragility, Violence and Conflict and the Meta Council on the Illicit Economy, World Economic Forum.
